John is a “PK.” Yes, he is a Pastor’s Kid but he is also a Prodigal Kid. After living a colorful early life, John likes to say that he was “given a time out” by God. He has been sober since 2002 and helped to found Crossing HOME’s first successful house in 2005. Since then, John has led the organization to grow in homes and relationships across Minnesota and the Dakotas. John has personally helped men and women with reentry from Wyoming to Wisconsin.
Don Dewey served for many years as a volunteer with Prison Fellowship, and more recently as Area Director for Minnesota and South Dakota, and Wisconsin and Iowa. He led the start-up of the InnerChange Freedom Initiative MN (which continues to operate successfully as PF Academy Lino Lakes), and the volunteer-led Academies at prisons in Minnesota and South Dakota. He also collaborated on the design and implementation of the MN Second Chances 5K Run/Walk. During his time at Prison Fellowship he also worked with networks of volunteers, cooperating organizations, and churches to provide support to prisoners, returning citizens and their families.
Rosemary Braun is the manager of the Crossing HOME Walk-In Center in St. Paul and the president of her congregation, The Gathering Place.
Ron Solheid retired last February after more than 35 years of service. He began his career at the Hennepin County Detention Center and spent the last seven years as Deputy Commissioner in the Community Services Division of the Minnesota Department of Corrections.
Renata Mayrhofer is a professor at Concordia University, St. Paul, where she also serves as the Department Chair for Undergraduate Business.
Jerome has had an accounting practice in Cold Spring, Minnesota, since 1977. Presently, Jerome is active in assisting various ministries. He is also involved with Soul Purpose Ministries prison outreach.
Jim holds a degree in youth ministry. He is a faculty emeritus at Concordia University in Saint Paul and still teaches courses in correctional ministry. He began working behind bars in Missouri as far back as 1974 and continues to do so today at the Stillwater prison. Jim is a recipient of the Diakonia en Christo Award (Service in Christ Award) given by the Lutheran Deaconess Association for decades of work in prison ministry.
Simon Trautmann is a Managing Partner at Trautmann Martin Law in Minneapolis. He's also a member of the City Council in Richfield, MN.
